"Friendship" isn't choosing the right person but creating the right relationship. Its not how much you love a friend from the very beginning but how much you build till the end.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is one of the sacraments ordained by God. Baptism is a sacred or holy activity of the Christians. This is also a way to have a new chapter of your life with God which is our savior. Why is it Baptism is important? It is important because it is an ordered by God and you should baptize in order to be added and officially part of the church. Like in our church, the Faith Baptist Church require to be baptize before you will be a official member. Moreover, Baptism is hard to accept unless you are ready to follow the word of God. When you decided to baptize, it means that you're ready to lived those activity that not good in the eyes of God.

Last Saturday, January 23, 2010; I decided to baptize in order to be born again spiritual. Like me, my co-church mates decided also to baptize in order to be born again spiritual and to be added in our church. In that time, our decision tested us. The tricycle that we will going to used is not working but because of God's well, He give us way to continue that said Baptism. God also give us wonderful day because in a little time, He stop the rain, so our Baptism is done perfectly because of the help of our God.
That was a great and memorable experience in the life of being a Christian.

I'm Lovely D. Montaña, 16 years of age. I lived in Corporacion, Lupon Davao Oriental. I'm a 4th year student in Lupon Vocational High School and hopefully I will graduated on this year, 2010.
Moreover, I'm a simple and joyful girl. I'm also friendly for those people who are true and I'm a good enemy for those people who talk in my back or simply called a "backbiter". I'm not telling that I'm a bad girl but not all the time I can be good with other person. We cannot "please" all the people to be good to us. But try to accept the fact that if you are good to them even you're enemy will be your good friend. Well, nothing more I can say with myself. I advice that its better to know me in person but for the sake of those people who don't have the time to know me, well let me say something about myself.
I was given a chance to see how beautiful to lived in earth on July 01,1993. I was made with the loved of two couple, whom are my beloved parents. I was growing with God's word. My parents teach me to have faith and they always telling me and show to me that there's a God who will guide me always. I can say that I'm not perfect. Sometimes, I can do something that made other people hurt but I can say "sorry" for those mistake. I'm also a silent person for those people that was stranger for me but in the company of my friends, family, relatives and even with my classmates, I'm became a talkative in a good sense and also I can be a clown or I can make people happy in my simple way of joking or even talking. I loved also watching television, txting with my friends and sharing different thought with them. I'm also a girl who want to soar high and want to achieve my goal in life.
In general, I'm a person who give important and care with my family, friends, classmates, relatives and even other people whom I know and I'm a girl that full of ambition that someday I want to achieve and be a successful. But most of all, I'm a girl that have faith with God.

What I've learned in Islam, Ramadan and Hajj!?

I've learned that Muslims is did not believe in celebrating birthdays of death anniversaries. And also they have their Ramadan that very important to them because their year will not be complete without celebrating the said Ramadan. They celebrate it on the ninth month of the year. They also have the Hajj which is the pilgrimage on Mecca. All the rich Muslims that can afford are willing to joined the celebration. Mecca is the holy place of the Muslims. In this activity, I learned a lot of information about Muslims such as the components of Islam, the major religious events and the five pillars of faith. For them all the religious festivals have their own significant. The important prayer for them is the Salat. And lastly, I learned that Muslims believe in only one God, they called it ALLAH and also they have their Qur'an. According to my Muslim classmates it is the continuation of the Holy Bible.

Activity No. 2

Components of Islam

*Ramadan is (also written Ramazan, Ramzan, Ramadhan, Ramdan, Ramadaan) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured; from dawn until sunset. It is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
*Hajj is is a pilgrimage in Mecca. It is currently the largest annual pilgrimage in the world.

Five Pillars of Faith in Islam

*Shahada (affirmation), the duty to recite the creed: "There is nothing worthy of worship save Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God"
*Salat (prayer), the duty to worship the One God in prayer five times each day
*Zakat (almsgiving), the duty to give away alms and to help the needy
*Siyam (fasting), the duty to keep the Fast of Ramadan
*Hajj (pilgrimage), the duty to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime.

Religious Events of Islam

1. Eid-ul-Fitr- is an Arabic word which means "a day which returns often." Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the 1st day of the month of Shawwal.

2. Eid-ul-Adhia- an Arabic word which means "a day which returns often."

3. Muharram- Muharram festival commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). This festival starts at the 1st day of Muharram and lasts for 10 days until 10th of Muharram. Muharram is the first month of Islamic calendar.

4. Eid Milad-un-Nabi- Allah sends down his blessings on the Prophet, and His Angles constantly invoke His blessings on him; do you, O believers, also invoke Allah’s blessings on him and offer him the salutation of peace.’ (33:57)

5. Shab-i-Miraj- means the night of Ascent. It is the blessed night when the Holy Prophet of Islam was spiritually transported to heaven and he reached a high stage of nearness to God Almighty which is beyond ordinary human comprehension.

6. Lailat-ul-Qadr- This blessed night is also called the night of Power. It is the particular night in the month of Ramadhan when the Holy Quran first began to be revealed.

7. Ramadan- is one of the holy months in the Islamic calendar.
8. Hajj- is an obligation once in a lifetime for Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it.
9. Jum'a-tul-Mubarak (Friday Prayer)- It is compulsory for all Muslims, men and women equally.
